Areca Leaf plates are a chemical free disposal product which is fully biodegradable in short period of time. No chemical, resins, strengheing agents or synthetic materials are used in the manufacturing process. The material does not react with the food and will not add any additional taste to food served.

All manner of wet foods can be served without the plate orbowl becoming soggy and losing its integrity and the areca leaf plates can be washed and used again for a limited time depending on how they are used.

Copper for Drinking Water & Utensiles

Copper energizes water and increase your metabolism. Copper utensils are recommended in Ayurveda for kapha constitutions or kapha imbalances.

Drinking warm water daily from Copper jug/glass, especially if done first thing in the morning, helps to decrease kapha dosha and lose weight.

Cleaning of Copper utensils: Following different ways are used to maintain good shine in copper utensil.

Vinegar and Salt. If copper is tarnished, boil article in a pot of water with 1 tablespoon salt and 1 cup white vinegar for several hours. Wash with soap in hot water. Rinse and dry.

Salt, Vinegar, and Flour. Dissolve 1 teaspoon salt in 1 cup white vinegar. Add enough flour to make a paste. Apply the paste to copper and let sit for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse with clean warm water, and polish dry.

Lemon and Salt or Baking Soda. Make a paste of lemon juice and salt, and rub with a soft cloth, rinse with water, and dry. Or use a slice of lemon sprinkled with baking soda. Rub copper with the lemon slice and rinse with water and dry. Vinegar and Salt. Pour vinegar over the surface Sprinkle salt over the acid and rub in the mixture. Rinse with warm water and polish dry.

Lemon Juice and Cream of Tartar. Make a paste of lemon juice and cream of tartar. Apply, leave on for 5 minutes, and then wash in warm water. Dry with a soft cloth.

Tarnished Copper: Polish with a commercial polish for copper following directions on the container. Polish can be made at home by moistening salt with vinegar or lemon juice to make a paste for a bright finish or a paste of rotten-stone and olive oil for a dull finish. After polishing decorative items, spray with lacquer to preserve color if desired.

Why Bronze?

As per our Indian tradition, after Gold and Silver, Bronze is good metal to be used as utensils for consuming food from it, because of its nutritive and hygienic values. It is also said in Sanskrit – Kansyam Buddhivardhakam – means Bronze increases our intellectual level. Traditional vaidyas used Bronze ash (bhasm) and vessels of Bronze while preparing medicines. Rubbing Bronze with cow-ghee on feet regularizes body temperature. That is why this bell metal was widely used by our forefathers till yesterday. Internationally too, specially in sports field – Bronze has its importance as third medal, first two being Gold and Silver respectively.

But … we, in our so-called modern life-style, have forgotten all such valuable things.

We believe in saying: OLD IS GOLD and it is our endeavor to reaccept Bronze – as a tribute to our forefathers.

What is Bronze?

Bronze is an alloy of two metals namely copper and tin. 78-80% copper and 22-20% tin is an ideal proportion that makes pure Bronze

Test of Pure Bronze:

An assayer can simply examine the purity of Bronze from its tinkle. A household test is to keep curd in a bronze vessel for sometime. If the curd gets greenish in color and bitter in taste, then the Bronze is not standard. Presently, Bronze can be tested in laboratory too.
